This initiative partners with students and their families (primarily first opportunity college students) to achieve higher education and career goals. This bilingual program includes individualized college guidance counseling, scholarship application support, college tours, career discernment, and a guaranteed scholarship for Harmony Project KC graduates.
For our youngest learners (K-8), our program meets families where they are by providing connections to tutoring, school navigation support through community partners (e.g. Show Me KC Schools), and career exploration opportunities (e.g. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers).
For high school students, the Path to College program has a more robust and intense offering:
- A new partnership with the Hispanic Development Fund for individualized college counseling, workshops, and tours.
- The Community Center is piloting a community mentor program for seniors, connecting them with professionals in their field of interest who culturally connect to the student and family.
- NECC is dedicated to closing the access gap by providing Board-designated scholarships for HPKC graduates to support them in continuing their education.
Become a Community Mentor - Join us for a roundtable with Harmony Project KC high school students to guide them toward their goals of higher education and beyond! Visit https://bit.ly/mentorintf or email our Supportive Services Manager (macyory@harmonyprojectkc.org) to sign up!
